He seems to prefer fog enshrouded streets and wooded areas as a way to conceal himself from being noticed. It should also be noted that children have been able to see him when no other adults in the vicinity could. Children also have dreams or nightmares concerning The Slender Man before their disappearance. Confiding these stories to their parents is met with the usual parental admonition: overactive imaginations.

Movie Review: "Scream Park" @screamparkmovie

Tom H’s Take:

Scream Park is a great throwback to the 80’s Slasher flicks and it doesn’t disappoint at all!! I really got into this film because of the old school methods that was being put to use. The cast did a damn good job and the effects were pretty fucking great all around. This film is about an amusement park that is going out of business only to find out the owner of the amusement park may be involved in some shady tactics in order to put the park back on the map and become a huge attraction. The attraction would be at the expense of several teenage kids that work at the park.

There were some cheap scare attempts throughout the film, but that is kinda the point being that Scream Park is a mirror of the old school days. The deaths keep coming and there is rarely any down time in this film once the killing begins!

I recommend everyone that loves 80’s Slasher flicks to check this out!

To my amazing followers,


I have officially created an indiegogo campaign to raise money to start The Dead in Dixon Indie Horror Film Festival. While my main goal with this is to show support to the indie horror film makers that I have met; I am also looking forward to shooting a film as well. This truly is not a project to where I stand to profit financially especially in the first year and I really am not concerned with a big financial payday, just the ability to support the festival from year to year moving forward.

Unfortunately to get the first year event off the ground it will require some financial support from my friends and followers; something I really hate to do is ask for money however in this case I feel that it is for a good cause and it will not be required from year to year after I meet my goal. Once I have the equipment I will be able to focus more on the entertainment side of the event which is the best part right? I would love to believe everyone that is following my blog on twitter and facebook read my blog and with that being said if everyone donated $5.00 my campaign would pretty much be complete. 

I have been working very hard over the last month to get the website up and shared with everyone, securing some indie rock bands and special guest celebs. I have realized the most important thing is the film makers; the film makers that I support are the special guests and those are the people I would like to honor during the festival. I do understand other festivals and cons have big name guests to show up in order to gain a following and I just can't match that in the first year unless I meet my campaign goal. 

I do understand that money is not a subject people like to talk about and I wouldn't ask if I didn't find this very important to me. I will work hard securing sponsors and vendors for the event and hopefully everyone that reads this understands where my loyalties truly lie. To the film makers and everyone that has worked hard to bring awesome indie horror films and hopefully all true indie horror film lovers will support this film festival because I understand what being independent is all about.

I hope to have a trailer for the film up in the next week or so as well as my very own video, now I am a big ugly man so that may turn people away.. this is a horror community so it shouldn't be too bad!

Movie Review: "The Sky Has Fallen" (2009) by Doug Roos @bloodontheblade

Tom H's Thoughts:
I spoke to a guy who told me that most people do not appreciate Indie Horror films even though they claim they support it. This is one of those films that you will appreciate as a true Indie Horror lover. I had the opportunity to review this film a little while back and I finally had a chance to get caught up. The effects in this film were the highlight; a lot of blood splatter! The acting was ok, could have been polished up a bit in regards to making the dialogue more interesting however in any horror film the acting isn't the most important part of the film. The storyline was great and I felt it was done very well! 
This film was a true indie horror treasure and I appreciate Doug for allowing me the opportunity to watch and review the film. Doug says he will be shooting another film in Missouri and hopefully I will be able to be there to see it first hand! Check out the official website and buy a copy of the film HERE!

TOM H's THOUGHTS:

This a fucking killer teaser from Director TJ Walker and Writer Will Strode! I really think this is going to be a great series to watch and follow. I was informed of this series by Film Maker Rick Walters, a man that is currently making the movie "The Resolution" and is also going to be directing some of the episodes as well as being a producer. Any type of series or movie that deals with Post Apocalyptic type shit makes me interested as I've said in other posts about films; I love seeing the different angles people use even if the overall film concept has been done before.
