Movie Review: "Doll Boy" By Billy Pon aka. Bloody Bill

Plot:

When a brutal daylight massacre leaves them bound and gagged in a remote, abandoned warehouse, eight young West Texans soon realize their minutes are numbered. Dropped deep into dark corridors these captives quickly find themselves in a game of predator and prey, with a merciless killer brandishing a sledgehammer as his choice of judgment. The dilapidated structure once the address of an old Tex-Mex flea market now houses a hell especially ready to deliver these unwitting souls a horrific fate they never dreamed existed.

TOM H’s THOUGHTS:   

This film could seriously lead to a very awesome franchise! The way this film was created is very good and I loved the look of the movie from a visual standpoint. Billy really hit something with Doll Boy! I fucking loved it from the start and it didn’t waste time getting into the action. The film is not scary at all but it is very entertaining! With this being a short film there is no backstory so eventually with a feature it would be awesome to see! Billy did say that he was working on the next installment that takes place after Doll Boy called “Circus of the Dead” and as long as they utilize the same editing and effects it will also be a bad ass film!!

I have listened to a lot of season one so far and I have really enjoyed the hell out of it! I recommend this to all lovers of zombie films and books because it is very character driven and it has a great mix of awesome voiceover’s.  Up to this point I think that they could turn this into a great web series or even a feature length film.  5 out of 5!!

Jessica Cameron’s Announces Two Additional Actors & Their 2nd Teaser

Jessica Cameron’s new film has a new teaser trailer today which can be seen below:

“Truth or Dare” is about 6 college kids who find internet stardom when they make “Truth or Dare” videos with a violent twist. It is all fun and games until their number one fan decides he wants to play...

Actors Shelby Stehlin, and Jesse Wilson have joined the cast which includes the Scream Queen herself, Jessica Cameron, along with Devanny Pinn, Heather Dorff, Ryan Kiser, and Brandon Van Vliet.

Special Effects artist Carrie Mercado is the key makeup/sfx person on “Truth or Dare” and has spent the last 3 months working on the effects for the film.

Principal photography begins on April 25th for Jessica and her producers, Jonathan Higgins & Buz Wallick. This is what Jessica had to say about the shoot:

Movie: "Elizabeth Bathory Movie" by Elizabeth Nixon

In sixteenth century Hungary a woman, Anika, is in prison with an eccentric woman who calls herself Katarina and tells tales of the Countess Elizabeth Bathory and her brutal torturing and killing of virgin girls before drinking and bathing in their blood.  Realizing that they are to be Elizabeth’s next victims and that Katarina is the only person she has now, Anika befriends her and opens up to her about her troubled past.  Despite Katarina’s disturbing manipulative behavior, fickle demeanor, unstable moods, and deteriorating body, they plot an escape having only a knife to lead them to freedom.  But Anika soon finds out that Katarina is not who she thinks she is.

I have been friends with Nancy Thompson Cos-Player Diandra Lazoron facebook and following posts for a while now and for some reason I have managed to totally not see this film being mentioned often. “Son of a Hundred Maniacs” looks to be fucking awesome and I can’t wait to hear more about what the film is going to be about and who will be involved.

Upcoming Release!! "The Hanover House" @BonfireFilms

On April 19, 2013 Bonfire Films will be releasing the trailer for their first full length horror film, The Hanover House. Unlike other films in the genre, The Hanover House was filmed in an actual haunted Maine farmhouse. While on set, the cast and crew experienced cold spots, shadow people, floating orbs and a full body apparition. The film also marks the return to the horror genre for actress Anne Bobby, best known for her starring role as Lori in Clive Barker's Night Breed. 

Also starring: Brian Chamberlain (Showtime's Dexter ARG), Casey Turner (See Girl Run), Lisa van Oosterum (Pokemon), Daniel Noel (ABC's Loving), Erik Moody (Ragged Isle) and Shannon Campbell (History Channel's Witch Hunt).

Director Corey Norman is no stranger to filmmaking. He has worked for clients such as: History Channel, Nova, National Geographic and Discovery. He was an assistant editor on Nova's Bioterror, done in conjunction with the New York Times, which won a Best News and Documentary Emmy Award. In 2011, he was honored as one of Maine Today Media's "Forty Under 40" for his work. Earlier this year Corey directed and edited Last Chance to Reason's "Upload Complete" music video for Prosthetic Records, which has just shy of 80,000 YouTube plays. His previous film, "The Barn" was accepted into nine national horror festivals including Fright Night and The Indie Horror Film Festival.

Comic book writers Neil Gaiman (Sandman) and Chris Claremont (Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine) have both public ally endorse the film through their Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Synopsis

When four friends go camping on the South Downs, they are quite literally tortured by their past.

Ralph is a 21 year-old man who has been having recurring dreams in German. To help him understand his dreams, his friend Claudia, a 23 year-old hippie, uses her undeveloped psychic powers to give him a profound past-life regression, which floods his mind with memories of being a Nazi commando on a mission in and around the South Downs.

When his visions of that past existence begin to take shape in his current life, Ralph begins to investigate. He goes on a camping trip with Claudia and their respective partners to the locations he saw in his regression in the hope of piecing together his previous life.

What Ralph doesn’t suspect is that the past he is trying to find is now stalking him, and plans to exact a terrible revenge on all four campers for crimes committed nearly seventy years ago.

MY THOUGHTS

A pretty cool angle appearing to be torturing his production assistant to get the funds through their kickstarter campaign! That shows me that there is some actual creative thinking going on to be completely different than most asking for $$. While they were not successful gaining funding through kickstarter they still offer information that you can use to donate to the film on their website! you can also visit and like their facebook page so you can get all of the updates. Please help out as much as you can financially or by spreading the word around!

After watching the trailer and reading about their movie I truly believe this will be a great film to support. With an experienced actress that has worked on some great indie horror films this should be another fucking awesome movie for us to enjoy!
