Synopsis:

After their friend becomes the latest victim in a chain of throat slashing murders, two young men go to the scene of the crime to investigate. While there, they discover a room lined wall-to-wall with old television sets and a plethora of terrifying videos, each containing a piece of the puzzle. What they ultimately discover will change their lives forever.

TOM H’s THOUGHTS:

I have read up on “The Fear Project” and I have read on their facebook page that this is going to be inspired by the V/H/S films however in this anthology about half of the Anthology will have psychological aspects and the other half will have monsters! A lot of people seem to have issues with found footage films due to them being mainly based on the Paranormal. I am one of those people, but when I have the chance to see something different I will always check it out! Love the trailer and I am a huge fan of having different films being created by filmmakers all over the world! I am definitely going to follow this film!!

Tom H. talks- PRE-REVIEW OF "The Killing Games" Directed by Barry J. Gillis

TYPHOON FILMS TO RELEASE THE KILLING GAMES APRIL 22nd.

(Edmonton) April 14th, 2014 Typhoon Films has announced that THE KILLING GAMES will be released worldwide on Apple Itunes, Google Play and other outlets on April 22nd, 2014. The feature film had its Worldwide Premiere at the Calgary International Film Festival, and it’s U.S. Premiere in San Francisco at Another Hole In The Head Film Festival. Its last stop on the circuit was at Shock Stock Horror Convention in London, Ontario this past weekend.

THE KILLING GAMES ran into its first hurdle when the Edmonton International Film Festival Chairman told Director Barry J. Gillis that the movie was too violent for their film festival. Gillis battled with the film festival to screen the movie, but to no avail. It was a bitter pill to swallow, and Gillis went public with his displeasure, which in turn led one of the festival organizers to tip off other festivals in a private film festival Facebook group to blacklist Gillis and his movie.

Despite the backlash from various festival organizers, Bruce Fletcher programmer with the Calgary International Film Festival requested a screener, and loved the movie so much, that the movie had a very successful debut in Calgary in front of a wild group of genre fans who thoroughly enjoyed the movie. THE KILLING GAMES has since put crowds into frenzy wherever it has screened.

THE KILLING GAMES opens with a scene where a teenage girl Elysia (Yunona Anders) accidentally witnesses a sadistic killing by sociopathic serial killers Son of Satan, (Edwin Autridge) and Dirty Jesus (John Scott), who, once they finish their work, spot the girl and give chase. Meanwhile, Elysia's dad, the

world-weary Birdman (Kelly A.H. Bird) is at home caring for his invalid wife. When Elysia don’t come home at the usual time, Birdman begins to worry about the whereabouts of his daughter.

Not far away is a roving gang of criminals headed by Alex (Alex Sharpe), with their fingers in all sorts of vague illegal pies, including drug dealing and armed robbery. But after a growly-voiced henchman (Toby S. Krekoski) botches a stick-up job that results in multiple murders, Alex suggests they head off to see an old friend he hasn't seen in years, to lay low for a while. Soon an ill-fated confrontation leads to a bloody and most unforgettable climax.

THE KILLING GAMES also features Kim Sonderholm, (CRAIG, LITTLE BIG BOY, THE HORROR VAULT) who stars as the Big Boss in the movie. Sonderholm is also set to star in the horror movie HOUSE OF MANY SORROWS which starts filming August 18th, 2014, in Alberta, Canada. HOUSE OF MANY SORROWS will be Directed by Barry J. Gillis, and will star a big name known to all horror fans. More announcements concerning HOUSE OF MANY SORROWS will be made in the future.

TOM H'S THOUGHTS:

I just watched the trailer for “The Killing Games” Directed by Barry J. Gillis! It says it is the film that is terrifying and emotionally disturbing that can cause never ending nightmares! I have to see it! I really was excited about the trailer after watching it and I feel THIS MAY BE THAT FILM! Honestly though people; I don’t get scared or disturbed easy so if this film delivers even half of what it says then I call it a fucking legendary film! These guys kicked ass on the trailer and everything I have read on the film so far is really good!

I know I sound like I am mocking the film; I’ m not! I actually think it’s cool that they are bold enough to put it out there and truly believe in their film! I will get to do a review for the film in the next week or so and this is a really fucking crazy exciting time for me! I accept the challenge and I promise that if this film delivers the terror and disturbance it says; This guy will be one very happy person!

"Horror finds a new home in 'Dwelling', shooting this summer!" by Kyle Mecca

HORROR HAS A NEW HOME IN “DWELLING”; SHOOTING BEGINS THIS SUMMER

BEWILDERED MEDIA PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCE A NEW CHILLER STARRING DEVANNY PINN, WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY KYLE MECCA

BUFFALO, NY (April 9, 2014) – BeWILdered Media Productions, the independent film production company based in Buffalo, New York, recently announced their first feature length film to date. With pre-production underway, “DWELLING” enters principal photography in late July and will be released in 2015.

Written and directed by Kyle Mecca, the story follows Ellie, a young newlywed, whose tragic past drives her to deliberately buy a haunted house. In hopes of connecting with the spirit world, her new home arises to be nothing more than a gateway for a malevolent soul trapped in a painted black mirror. “Dwelling” will seek to answer a universal question on how far we as human beings are willing to push the boundaries of this life to speak to the dead.

“Dwelling” features the distinguished horror actor Devanny Pinn (“The Black Dahlia Haunting” and “House of Manson”) in a pivotal supporting role, with more casting to be announced in the coming weeks.

TOM H’S TAKE:

After speaking to one of the Producer’s Brandyn T. Williams; I get the feeling that this film is going to be a film that will have the feel of the 70’s and 80’s that gave audiences something to be scared of! Remember the days when “The Exorcist” came out? People were in shock and ran from the theater with terror! This is what Brandyn T. Williams wants to deliver! That type of reaction! “Dwelling” will be strong in character development and they have already Cast DeVanny Pinn so that is a huge plus in their favor!

When additional casting calls happen I will inform everyone at that time; this would be a good film to be involved with! I had a chance to watch the teaser trailer and I found it to look really good! This is a film that I will be watching develop closely and offering support! I will also announce any interviews or Horror Hangouts that I may host with these great people!!

Jimmy Dempster update!! "Messiah" and "Torrent" both directed by D.J. Rivera!

I just had a chance to get some updates from Jimmy Dempster about some upcoming projects that he is involved with.  The first is called “Messiah” , “Messiah” is a short film that will be in production May of this year. “Messiah” is about a fallen hero with powers to resurrect the undead! 

Jimmy is also starring in feature film “Torrent”, “Torrent” is about when music and movies were the only things that were being downloaded illegally? What happens when the gap between the brain and technology no longer exists? Where your dreams, thoughts and secrets are a click away from being stolen. Every Disease needs a cure. Every new threat needs a solution.

In the not-too-distant future, the threat of digital piracy has evolved. Terror has gone digital and our way of life is in jeopardy. This time the threat isn't another country or an extremist group; it’s the citizens of the United States. With the Government’s back against the wall, it looks to maintain control and keep it's people in line. For years they have been watching, they have been waiting. Payback is on. Ask yourself, what did you think was going to happen?

Movie Review: "The Hanover House" by Corey Norman

TOM H REVIEWS “THE HANOVER HOUSE” BY COREY NORMAN

Plot:

Returning from his father’s funeral, Robert Foster is faced with the unimaginable; he hits a young girl with his car. In a desperate attempt to save her life, he seeks help at a nearby farmhouse. Little does Robert know that the house has been waiting for him his entire life. Once inside its walls, Robert must overcome his own personal demons in an attempt to save both his wife and himself. But there’s a problem, only one may leave The Hanover House alive.

My Review:

First and foremost I have to say HOLY SHIT! I have been waiting on this film for quite some time! I was the first person to do a write up in support of “The Hanover House” and I have done interviews with Casey Turner (Shannon Foster in the film) and Director Corey Norman. Over the past year or so I have given updates and been probably annoying Corey about when he would be finished; finally it has happened!!

I am not disappointed in anyway with this film! Great acting; character development and backstory that led up to the fright and intensity that ended up taking place! The camera angles were seriously a major reason why this film was so damn good; the angles created the feel and made it more visually appealing! The audio effects were great as well! This is the type of film that helps bring a good name to Indie filmmaking!

The Hanover House is a much better version of a “Haunted” house scenario then most of the latest films that I have had a chance to see; The ending was awesome and it has me feeling it could lead to a sequel, with or without a sequel it was definitely something different and I loved it! I feel it has surpassed even the more popular movies such as “The Conjuring” or even most remakes or upgraded “Amityville” films that have come out. The entire cast did a great job! 

The world premiere for The Hanover House will be May 9^th and 10^th!!
